School Buildings and Facilities
The school premises, which stand in 12 acres of gardens, fields and woodland on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, consist of a large country house with modern annexes and separate classroom and recreation blocks. The Old House and Garden House contain living accommodation for the children which is of the highest standard. Many features of the school have been carefully designed in order to promote the children’s social and emotional development. There are two separate dining rooms to enable the development of positive eating habits and benefit social discourse at mealtimes.

The single, twin and triple bedrooms are comfortable and colourful, with carpeted floors, and many have en suite shower rooms. However for those that do not there are additional shower and bathing facilities. The Care Staff carefully match children to bedrooms dependent upon their needs and the social, emotional and behavioural skills they need to develop. The accommodation areas in The Old House have been totally refurbished and upgraded in the last two years and Garden House was built in the past five years.
All age groups have their own common rooms where they can relax and unwind before bedtime. All pupils have the option of being read to by a staff member or having a story tape in their own rooms before going to sleep.
Children have a 'soft play' and toys playrooms, a computer games room, a well stocked library and television rooms which are used during evenings and at weekends to provide a wide range of activities. Children also have the use of an indoor games room and recreation hall for wet weather and playtimes.
